Roles vs offerings

Two different questions:

  1. Who may configure and administer the club?Roles (RBAC).
  2. Who may book and use a radio?Offerings (visibility, share groups, Marketplace).

Keeping them separate is one of the Hub’s strengths: you can give a trusted member the power to invite people without automatically putting every radio on the air for them—and you can open a station for booking without making that operator a club admin.

Roles (Club → Members → Roles)

Roles define administrative capabilities such as managing members, devices, offerings, share groups, subscriptions, and credits. My Shack is a one-person setup; clubs use the same permission model with many members.

Typical starting point: keep Owner / Admin lean, give everyday operators a Member role that can view and book—but not reconfigure the club—unless you intentionally grant more.

Offerings

An offering is a bookable product tied to devices on My Shack or a club. It carries schedule windows, rate (including free), and an audience:

  • Private / share-group audiences
  • Selected clubs or named users
  • Public Marketplace listings

Operating a radio still requires a valid booking (or on-demand connect under Hub rules)—not merely “can view devices.”

Share groups

Share groups are reusable audiences for private offerings. They are how you say “contest team” or “visiting club X” once, then attach that audience to one or more offerings. See Share groups.
