Overview of New Features
Here is an overview of some of the new features in iShareRadio v2.0:
A familiar website with improvements
The overall look and feel of the website remains much the same, with enhancements and simplifications where possible to make everyday use easier.
A redesigned and more responsive back end
The service has been re-engineered to be more responsive and distributed across multiple servers. This gives us significantly better maintenance, reliability, and support capabilities.
A new Friends & Family plan
This option does not require the radio owner to create a club. Simply set up an account and invite your friends and family to join.
Flexible add-on features
If you need just a little more capability than your current plan provides, you can add specific features without having to upgrade to the next plan tier—at a much lower cost.
Clubs are now first-class entities
A Club is a separate entity within iShareRadio, with its own administrators and members. Members can have different classes or roles within the club.
Club radio pools
A club member can choose to add their radio to the club’s shared pool of resources, making it available as a club resource.
Flexible member roles
Clubs can assign different roles to members, such as Administrator, Member, Novice, Contester, and others. Offerings can then be created specifically for particular types of members.
Share Groups
A club can create a Share Group containing a specific set of club members. Offerings can then be created specifically for that group.
Resource sharing
A shack resource like a radio may now be used in multiple accounts, clubs, and similar spaces. This way an owner of the resource can include the same resource in multiple places. Scheduling of the resource is managed across all of the offerings it is in.
Alternate SDR Support
We now support RimuSDR and Aether SDR.
